A new DS... it doesn't sound too exciting, does it? Well I just now read some of the features...

- No GBA Slot (aww...)
- SD Slot (AWESOME)
- Two built-in cameras (0.3MegaPixel & Unknown) (Awesome!!!!!)

- Internal storage space (nothing compared to an sd card)

- MP3 player (ehh)

- Bigger screens (3.25" instead of 3") (hmmm thats cool)

- 17% thinner than the DS Lite (!)
- Built in web browser (g status!)

- New "DS Shop" functionality (Similar to WiiWare and Virtual Console) (ok now this is awesome)
- Available in Japan on November 1st for $180 (not bad)
- A new firmware and DS Channel/App interface (finally)
- Mii support.  (kinda cool)

With KINGDOM HEARTS xD Man I love that series! Nice touch Nintendo, with cameras and a browser :) Oh my God, it's going to be out in the US in 2009 for $179!!!!!

An mp3 player is boring. Oh, and I got spoiled with my M3 Simply. Sure, it is a nice feature to have, but I'd like it better if you can play the music while you play games.

Note: I read that the sd card capacity limit is 2 gigs. And no, just because there is an SD card does not mean that you can play homebrew.

 I can play music while playing games...with my custom PSP firmware plugin.

Yeah...of course, but at least that makes it easier for an exploit. Also...I don't see the point of limiting to 2 gigs, that's just stupid.

Yes...but that just makes it easier for homebrew. You don't need to buy one of those blank cartridges that are only on the internet, and an exploit will be found...so you don't need to buy anything really.(except an SD card if you don't already have one.)

Rom images of GBA games you own is, infact, legal.

It does sound pretty interesting, but one feature that would be a big plus is better durability.  I've already had the hinge crack problem in my current DS Lite, and now the top screen blanks out if I have it tilted at the laptop angle.  I can only play/draw when it is fully 180 degrees open.  The GBA orignal and SP models were very solid, and I've heard the same about the DS Phat.  I hope the DSi gets back to the solid construction that Nintento has been known for in the past.
