Welcome to the SupaArt Contest 2 thread! I've been waiting til a good time to start off my second big contest. If you were around during the Downhill Jam community days, you might have been aware of my first SupaArt Contest! (Heres the first contest's thread)
Heres the deal. You guys, if you choose to enter, will draw my character, "Chris." You might have seen him around, and have noticed him in my art. There he is up there in the contest's logo as well. You'll draw him in any way you want, I don't care if its super realistic or ... well I'd care if it was like super lame. But I doubt I'll get that from you guys! Draw Chris however way you want, try and keep his basic design though. That means the green armor and helmet. He does have weapons, a sword and a gun. But its all up to you what you want to do with him.
I decided to start the contest now, after Goopy's contest. This may be a good time, because I'd like to get this contest over with before spring break begins. So, lets sum this stuff up.
-Draw Chris any way you want! Try and keep his signiture green armor and helmet, though.
-I don't care about detail, but if thats your thing, go and do it!
-The winner is up to me. I'll discuss each pic however way I want, and I'd also like a poll created to see what the people have decided.
-New pics, guys. Submit new stuff! Though... I'm pretty sure most of you haven't drawn Chris in the past, heh.
REVIEWS:
This was a less serious take on Chris. It looks like it was made with a humorous flare, I mean, check out that helmet addition. The shading is good and there are even some dead bodies in the background with blood. Pretty intense. This wins Most Humorous Pic!
I can't say much about this one cept that it is a nice pic of Chris. It has Chris's smirk, which is cool, and those dark outlines are great. He even included the glare in the vizor. This wins Most Stylized Pic!
This was probably the most creative Chris pic. Perry went the extra distance and made a "fan fiction" if sorts. He made his own version of Chris. Different armor, and even appearance. Who would have thought Chris had long hair? That Sigma on his chest plate also is nice. This was one of my favorites. This wins Most Creative Pic!
This was the nicest "copy" of Chris. It was artistically done well, and he even added in the EN Gun! The colors and everything are consistent with my own Chris pics. This was another of my favorites. This wins Most Well-Done Pic! This was a favorite of the polls, by the way.
Yay, another EN Gun! I liked the outlines in this one, cept it looks like the arm, hand, and EN Gun is missing them. That smile is kinda plain, and Chris's anatomy is kinda messed up here. Still though, it's a nice pic. I also like how everyone who drew the vizor kept that signiture glare. This wins Most-Tanned-Chris of the contst Pic!
And another EN Gun! Well lets see. This pic doesn't look copied at all. Chris's helmet seems to be circular here, and he looks like hes pretty short. This is a great example of the "draw Chris however you want" part of the rules of the contest. Coolmonk's signiture "textured" style makes an appearance here. Cept in this pic, I think it looks nicer than his others. So, another nice job! This wins Most Followed the Rules Pic!
I'm glad Yosh made a pic. He kinda dimmed down the details of Chris's armor, and actually downstaged it to what Chris used to look like. I found that pretty cool, coincidental of course. Nice job, Yosh! Beleive it or not this pic is quite nastalgic. This wins Most Nastalgic Pic!
Flint didn't really want this to be submitted, but it's still art. So here it is being critically reviewed! Well not really critically. Um anyways. I dunno what it is, but Flint likes to make Chris's skin green. I think it's because of the glare of the gun in this pic, so thats a cool effect. Speaking of a gun, what kind of gun is that? I wonder why Chris would be using that thing. Maybe because when it fires it looks awesome. But this isn't about that awesome shot of the gun. Chris seems to be in the same pose as he was in for Flint's last pic (during the last SupaArt Contest). Not that theres anything wrong with that. This pic was nontheless cool, but not worked on hard enough, even though I gave plenty of time to work on the pics.
Verdict: Another great SupaArt Contest! I got a number of submissions, which was cool. Now my favorite is...
AgorraPerry's Chris! It was just so innovative. He really made use of the "do what you want, but keep Chris's signiture appearance" rule of the contest. Theres nothing I value more than creativity! Perry, you win! Congrats! Sockhead's pic was right under.
Thanks for submitting pics for this Supa Art Contest! I'm looking forward to the next Tony Hawk game, hopefully it has an art editor. Til then, keep drawin'.
